Patrick Griffin

Patrick originally came to Aspen in the early 70's to make ski movies for sponsors like Rossignol, Asolo and Outdoor Magazine. It was a whole lot of fun and, to a large degree, he was successful. There was only one problem. He found out that he could not buy both lift tickets AND food just by making ski movies. So he found a part time job working with a local painter… and was shocked that he really enjoyed the work. Two years later Patrick launched out on his own with Aspen Paintworks.

David Hale

David Hale joined Patrick as a full partner in 1986 and they have worked happily ever after. David left the business for a few years to earn a Ph.D. in the Philosophy of Religion at the University of Denver. During the winters, he teaches full time at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction. David really enjoys the art of paint… matching drywall textures and paint colors. But be warned… if you ask David a philosophical question, be prepared for a VERY deep answer. Don't worry… he'll keep painting.
